    Sky+ Software "upgrade" has buggered perspectives....

      Angry Sky+ Software "upgrade" has buggered perspectives....

      Not too happy about this. I noticed at the beginning of the week that my sky box just started flicking between perspectives with my TV regardless of whether it should or not but i just put it down to a temp broadcast glitch.

      Annoyingly when watching something in widescreen there have been scenarios where by after watching a widescreen broadcast adverts come on in widescreen but when the program comes back on it reverts to 4:3 even though it shouldn't!!!!! So you end up with a 16:9 program in 4:3!

      After speaking to a couple of people it appears they're having the same problems and upon phoning sky its due to an 'upgrade' and it should have apparently always been this way!!! I've had 12 months worth of brilliant viewing which has basically just been trashed by and upgrade which ironically isn't even reported on the sky website!!!!!!!!

      Anyone else had similar happen recently?

      I've got the Pace V2 Sky+ box and am not suffering this problem. Stupid question maybe but have you checked the settings on the Sky box and TV.

      me too, it's driving me scatty! i thought my tv was on the blink, no matter how many times i change the tv setting to wide - it acts like it's in 'smart' & the size keeps changing.

      deep joy, failed recordings all over the place & this too - all for 50 a month! bargain...

      It happened to me also, but solved it eventually (more luck than judgement)...... I have a Sony TV :

      Menu
      Picture Control
      Format
      16:9 Auto (I changed this from On to Off)

      This may not be the definitve answer, but it worked for me. I guess non Sony users may find something similar in their setup menu.

      I have a Sony too but other people i know have tosh's...... I'll give it a go but i really am starting to think its been done by accident.

      mine buggered also, thought it was just a broadcast problem then thought problem with TV. Why bother having a picture setting if it overiden by their upgrade.

      Having the same problem, and wavy lines across the middle of the screen. No doubt a further update will fix this.

      over the past few days, posters elsewhere advising that an update has 'fixed' the aspect ratio niggle. our box was on the welcome screen this morning, the model no. has been updated over night & ratios are now back to normal.

      Check your input leads, not sure why you are getting lines across the screen, wouldn't have thought the update would have caused this.
