Can only watch channel being recorded

      Hi,
We have sky + & this last few days if i was recording a channel (any channel) i cannot view any onther channel at the same time, when i stop the recording i can watch any channel i like, any ideas why this happens ? Also the recording always says FAILED.

I have updated the software using the backup buttom on the sky box but it makes no difference.

      David

Re: Can only watch channel being recorded

Sky+ needs two LNB inputs because it has two tuners - one is used for recording whilst you can view another channel through the other tuner, unless you are recording two channels at the same time when they are both used.

So the first thing to do is check the cable from the dish to the Sky+ box. Make sure both cable connectors are attached to the cable and the box securely. If that doesn't work it could be a faulty LNB or a faulty Sky+ box or one of the cables from the dish to the box.

You may need to call Sky to sort it out for you. I'd check the cables and then change the terminals at the LNB (if you can reach it without injuring yourself!).

Have a look at the cables/connectors then post back.

      Press Services on your remote.
      Then press 4
      Then press 6
Are the Signal strength and Quality both showing on Input 1 and 2
If not check the cables like dms05 suggested.
