      Recordings 'Clashing 'Failed on Sky+ box for no reason

      hi all, joined because i have a problem

      Over the last few days my sky+ box (Thomson) has for no apparent reason been showing 'Failed' and most recently 'clashed' on various programmes.

      For example today i set 5 programmes to record (non of which were recording at the same time) and out of the 5, one recorded. Others showing failed or clashed. All these programmes were on the standard bbc 1,2, itv etc

      Ive never had any problems watching any channels, although i have been having trouble when resuming paused television, it becomes slow, until i resume live tv when it becomes fine

      As i type this im recording a programme, its showing recording in the planner and the red light is on the front of the box

      Any thoughts

      Yes - Failed recordings on a thomson box are a common symptom of power supply failure. Suggest you should try a planner rebuild first and if that doesn't help then do a total reset. (Services > 4 > 01 > Select)

      If that doesn't work then you must either call out sky (65 if the box is outside the 12 month warrantee) or otherwise get a new PSU board from Satcure Thomson Power Supply Page

      I thought that was a problem for HD boxes and not really standard Sky+

      I would guess that it is a hard drive failing, easy to replace or as advised above call Sky and pay the 65.00.
