      Sky+ Install

The sky engineer has just been to install and says i need to contact my council as it is a communual aerial.
He has installed it but i can't record and watch another channel.
He says i need a diplexer or something.
So i called council and they put me in touch with the company that deals with their communual aerials.

The engineer said i would be no more than 40 yet the company that i called said 160, the engineer said he could not do it private because the diplexer needs to be set or something!

Can i get one off ebay or do i need to shell out the 160 i can't realy afford?

      Re: Sky+ Install

You are stuck with the company who mainteains or rents out the equipment, you don't want to be messing with what is already there as you could switch off everyone if you get it wrong.

Chances are that they will have spare outputs and just need to run the new cable in but as I said, that's not something you or anyone else that doesn't know what they are doing should attempt.

It's not called a diplexer but a "stacker":
      Johanssen Stacker-Destacker
      GLOBAL Stacker De-Stacker (30m Version)
