      Sky Plus blocked?

      Hi,

Just noticed something a bit strange, I wonder if anyone else has seen this before please, and if anyone's reading today they may want to try this out on their Sky Plus box?

Channel 602 this morning (Sun 7 Dec), was unable to record Scooby Doo Pirates ahoy. The R button had no effect at all. Programs afterwards are recordable no problem.

The same movie is on again at 5pm today, and also refuses to be added to planner with the R button. You can try this if you're interested?

I thought it was a problem with my box, so have had a mate try to record both movies on his skyplus box - same result. Impossible to record.

Do Sky block certain programmes from being recorded, and if so why?

      Can I have a refund!?

      Cheers

      Re: Sky Plus blocked?

I've heard of this happening before and apparently it is something to do with a corrupt or incorrectly set up EPG entry - not a concious decision by Sky to prevent recording, but an error, though the net result is the same.

Knowing Sky it will be on again a few dozen more times over the coming weeks and hopefully the glitch will not be there next time.

Try setting up a manual record for it

Thanks for the manual record tip, will give that a whirl.

To be honest, I was more interested in why it had happened than in recording the actual programme - if it's an error, fair enough but if it was the broadcaster preventing recordings intentionally, that would be a different matter.

      Thanks

I also had one of those with a golf series - I sent a message to the box via mysky web site and it then accepted it - weird but it worked.

      Cheers
