      Channel 5 is changing

Got a postcard from Sky today telling me that Channel 5 is changing in my area and that any Sky+ planned recordings will work up until the 3rd December (I think but it could have been the 6th - recycled the card) and on the afternoon of said date any planned recordings would need to be deleted and set up again.

      Any idea why?

Five are making different channels for Scotland and north of england. Same shows at the same times, just with regional advertising. So basically, the channel you have the recording set for atm will disappear, and an almost identical twin channel will take its place. But the change means you have to reset your recordings.

Its like dating your ex's twin sister, you have to make some changes so that you dont call out the wrong name in bed (not really like that at all, I just wanted to make a joke)

      Ahh,

May be we will stop seeing the adverts that say *- not applicable to Scotland then.

And being told that you can get paid money in to train to be a teacher when Scotland don't do that.

This is a departure from Sky's usual, 'do it and don't say anything' attitude. Although the card seems to be from Sky, I wonder if Channel 5 are footing the bill?

If you don't get a card can I assume the transponder will stay the same for your region? I assume it will be Scotland and Border TV that will change, the rest staying as it is.

I would think that is correct, but if you are in another region and have problems, you will know what is wrong.
