      Which Hard Drive?

My friend is having problems with his Pace Sky+, I suspect it is his hard drive as it is doing the same things mine did before I fitted a new one a year ago sticking etc.

He has a Pace 3100 V1, can any one recommend a replacement drive and a supplier as I cannot remember which one I used. Anything upto 250GB will be plenty as he only has the standard 40GB one now.

      Thanks

      Re: Which Hard Drive?

I did toy with the idea of getting Sky out for their 65 call out and get them to replace it bu you can never be sure what you may end up with and it certainly wont have a drive bigger than 200GB.

I've seen plenty of drived for around 25-35, just wondered if anyone had any ideas which were the better ones for this usage.

      Re: Which Hard Drive?

I always used Maxtors in the Pace3100 along with a silinex fan as the fan will be on constant in a 3100 with a HDD >40Gb.

      Re: Which Hard Drive?

you can use 7200, but the older boxes don't cope with them that well.

HD would be 7200 as it's a SATA drive where as non-hd are IDE drives.
