the blue button should work on all boxes, but sky+ remotes and normal sky remotes are not generally interchangeable.

well, it is the box that cause the problems. tried my remote on friend's sky+ and worked perfectly. by the way, he has PACE sky+ box.
well, i guess i'll have to contact sky to ask for box replacement.

UPDATE: replaced my slow AMSTRAD sky+ box with PACE box. works perfectly now.
