Free Sky+ New Contract?
hi folks,
i have been give the opurtunity to returrn to sky+ with a free box and free instalation but i have a question below which i hope someone can help me with.
if i do take the free sky+ BOX WITH 80GIG box if i wish to buy another box, after 4 months, with a larger hard drive of 160gig, can i keep the box that sky gave me in the cupboard for the remainder of my contract will my subsription to the new box work ok, or must i only use the box the gave me for the full 12 months of the contarct? will the sky card work in both boxes?
cheers for any help any one can give me,
treeman

Re: Free Sky+ New Contract?
All new Sky + Boxes come with a 160Gb hard disk drive.
It is partitioned so you only get 80Gb worth of storage, the rest is reserved for Sky anytime.
If you use another box then you have to ring Sky to match the box with your viewing card and activate the recording function.
Can't see there being a contractual problem. They are your boxes after all.

Re: Free Sky+ New Contract?
You could check back with them, but the box you get will say 80Gb personal storage on it, so that's probably what Sky are telling you.
Even if you get a 160Gb HDD box advertised on EBay you will only be able to use 80Gb yourself.
What you would need is someone selling a box with a 320 Gb drive, or consider upgrading the one sky send you ( at your own risk of course.)
