Sky Plus Not Playing

anyone had this problem:
i recorder doctor who and went to play it, when you chose where to play it from it freezes and will not play but you can press left and right to scrool throught the options and backup wont work.

help!

when i press the back up button to return to the planner it wont but when i press sky it will go to the channel i was watching, is this supposed to happen

it's just a corrupt recording and as such the sky planner is not handling it as expected because the data is corrupt. Just delete it and save yourself the pain.

and what if it keeps on happening for 7 out of every 10 programmes?

then I would guess that you either have a faulty box, or need your dish re-aligned.

1 recording out of many is just a one off corrupt recording.

7 out of every 10 is clearly faulty equipment/software.

Then it sounds like your hard disc is on the way out.

You could try a planner rebuild. You need to go into the installers menu using the following sequence:

Services, 4, 0, 1, Select and select planner rebuild.

It's like a quick format and won't delete any existing recordings.

If this doesn't fix the problem then try the Full System Reset but be aware this option WILL delete everything from your planner.

i had the same trouble with the thomson sky plus box (never have a thomson again) its the hard drive failing if it happens a few times in a week ..and soon you notice anytime time will fail when the light on the front dail flashes a few times and dont show the preview screen ..

and no matter how many full system resets and planner rebuilds it still wont fix it

unless you take the drive out and full format it from a hdd manager software the put it back in the sky box that works 20% off the time
