      sky disk & sky+ box

      Hi -
I'm moving house, and the flat i'm moving into only has a dish which was used for sky. However I have a sky+ box. Is there anyway to use the sky dish with the sky+ box? Will a tv signal splitter work?

contact sky inform them of your move and they can arrange for either a new dish with quad lnb or at least a new quad lnb and new cable run for your new home shortly after you move in

a single feed lnb will only give a signal to one input and canot be split to give full sky+ functions

Assuming it is all aligned and ready to go your Sky+ box will work like a standard box when you plug in the single feed.

To get it to work properly you will need two feeds (you cannot split the signal and may damage your receiver if you do), this is normally done by fitting a quad LNB. it is an easy job to undertake yurself and can be bought from e-bay quite cheaply. You will then need to run a second cable from the dish to the Sky+ box.

If you are unable or unwilling to do this yourself, a local Aerial/Satellite installer could do it easily and should not charge the earth.
