Thinking of Getting Sky+ ..
All,
I am thinking of getting Sky+.
Although I can't really 159.99 to get the box and to have it installed.
I have read that some people have, "blagged", sky for a sky+ box.
Would someone give me a few hints as to how I should be blagging sky to get a sky+ box?
Thanks

Re: Thinking of Getting Sky+ ..
Attempts to blag a box from Sky would normally fall on deaf ears from Sky themselves.

I got mine for £49 plus free install on a weekend. Rang Sky, and was told no deals, asked for cancellations dept - mentioned I was gonna go with Virgin. Bingo, Sky+

Good luck with blagging a Sky+ box! I worked for them & I got no discounts at all!

It works for some, not for others. If you are going to try then be very very polite, but firm. When I did it I had the Sky and Virgin Media pages up on the screen so that I could compare. I ended up at Cancellations and the guy asked if there was anything they could do to retain the business. Ten minutes later I was signed up for another 12-month minimum contract and a new Sky+ on its way to me two days later. But mine was no idle threat - I was a phone call away from jumping to Virgin Media for all my telly.
Alternatively look for a Sky+ box on eBay or suchlike. But you'll also need the dual LNB for the dish and another co-ax cable from dish to Sky+ box. It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer.

Thats great if you can get both in your area,I cant! It's freeview, analog tv or Sky,& they work on the assumption that they wont budge. And it goes to a extent of who you get on the other end of the phone.Dont forget tht they work on commission bonus & giving away Sky boxes for free affects that bonus.Normally it's a team bonus, not individual.
