Using Sky + box as freeview.

      Hi

I've got a question which hopefully someone will be able to sort for me.

I've got Sky HD in the front room and Sky+ Multiroom in the bedroom. However, the Sky+ in the bedroom only has 1 cable/feed to it (left like that deliberately).

I would now like to put my spare Sky+ box in the 2nd bedroom as a freeview tuner. I know I need to run another cable from the dish to the 2nd Sky+ box. Access to the dish is not very easy (impossible for me as we are 3 floors up) so I cannot see whether it's a case of just connecting another cable and feeding it to the second box, or does the original (single feed cable) need to be swapped for a dual feed cable and then does that cable need to be split to each bedroom?

Secondly, the second bedroom does not have a phone line and is quite a distance from one. I could run an extension cable as a temp measure but the question is this - If I'm using the 2nd feed of a multiroom that I am already paying for and using a spare box - would Sky allow that and does the box still need to be connected to a phoneline?

      Many thanks in advance.

If you already have 3 feeds, your lnb is probably a quad, in which case there will be a spare connector on the dish. If the third box is only going to be freeview you dont need a telephone connection.

You may not be able to use pause/rec/play ect without paying a monthly 10 fee tho.(I'm using mine as freeview & dont have them.)
