You do not need a telephone line to connect to the Sky+box only for the multi room service. Sky will give you 6 weeks to get a line connected, but if you choose not to then i believe that you will be charged 25 as a one off payment.

      Re: telephone line for sky+?

The reason you need a phoneline for Multi room is so Sky can basically tell both STB's are in the same house, not one in yours & your mom 3 streets away getting the full pack for 10.00!! After a year you can ditch the phoneline except multiroom. It is actually British Interactive Broadcasting that insist on you haveing a phoneline as they pay for the subsidided box.You could argue that as you bought the box second hand then the required phoneline is mute as your a existing customer, especially as you are a customer for XX yeasr & the Sky + is to replace a buggered normal STB.As for the card,it's the same one that's in your present box.Had a lot of phoneline queries when I was a SKy installer.
      Hope this helps.
