Sky+ comes on at 6am Got a strange thing going on with my Sky+ box, here are the symtoms.
STB: Pace v3
STB Status: In standby mode
Hard drive: 750Gb Seagate.
Time: 6am, 6.05am and various other times.
Description: The hard drive will spin up while the stb is in standby, sometimes spins up for only a few minutes, other times spins up to a few hours, its not recording anything as I haven't set it to record at 6am, it is some sort of automatic housekeeping/defragging ??, otherwise - all is working fine.
Any ideas ??

Thats Completely Normal Im Afraid, I used to have SKY+ in my bedroom and it used to wake me up most mornings.. And now with Anytime TV i hear its a lot more active...
Ive always wondered what the box was doing? although it only ever came on for a minute or 2 on mine, but that was before anytime came along..

mine does this as well. How can I stop it? Will unplugging the phone line help? what IS the box doing?

I just noticed the hard drive spin up on mine today at 5:55 AM even though the box was on standby. Must be the Sky Anytime.

afaik it does not come down the phone line, you can turn anytime off in one of the menus

Sky Anytime (on the PVR boxes) is a satellite feed (two channels worth), just like any other channel. The content is shown a number of times at different times of day over a set period of time to allow the STB chance to record the content. Originally Posted by richone54
