Sky+ Constantly crashing

Just got sky+ this week and the box is crashing every couple of hours, basically you can't do anything except watch the current channel you are tuned into...to do anything I have to turn the box off by the plug and then turn it back on again (and it still takes a good 2/3 mins until it will turn on)

Is this normal, or is this something else I moan to sky about?

Erm no it's not normal. Sounds like a faulty box, we've got an engineer coming out Saturday to look at ours, was fine for 6 moths but has started mis-behaving so they are going to sort it out.

please please please when you try this reset procedure always put the box in standby and THEN WAIT for the HDD to stop spinning before turning off at the mains.

I thought it was obvious from my previous post that when the box crashes the box (including the standby button) are unresponsive.

I have no choice but to stop it completely.

Were you able to get yours fixed? If so do you know what they did to fix it?
