      Quick question

I have managed to aquire a + box from a relative who is emigrating to Australia and has no use for it. I assume all I need to do is put my viewing card from my standard box into it and it should work ?

Yep, just as soon as you have had your card paired with the new box

then you should go out/do some D.I.Y/have a drink anything but watch live TV ever again

      Re: Quick question

Just been having a think about this - I'm assuming the second feed is to allow you to watch a different channel whilst recording another. If thats the case will I be able to still record as long as I dont try to watch a different channel until I get my wiring sorted ?

      Re: Quick question

technically yes, but to get it to work right is a complete bugger as it always try to default to input 2 to record...
So you would need to set up manual recordings which would tie up input 2, then let the box record the programme you want.
      Possibly.

Trust me, new cable is much easier!!

Of course, if you happen to see a sky engineer about, you could always try to *ahem* bribe him to fit it for you for a small charge....
