Perhaps a newbe question. When i copy from my sky+ hard drive to a dvd-rw on my panasonic recorder, the results are poor. My tv, sky+ box, and dvd recorder, are connected with Ixos scart cables. Any ideas please?

Have you tried different quality settings on the DVD recorder?
Also how are your boxes connected?

Unhappy Re: poor dvd copy quality

Well I thought for a moment that it was just mine that was recording badly to dvd.At least now I know there must be a problem elsewhere. I did not have this bad quality before I had sky+. When recording from straight sky to dvd the pic quality was very good.
I am using Amstrad Sky+, Liteon DVDR, Orion 32LCDTV.
The sky+ pic from box to tv via rgb scart fine.
The liteon pic to tv via hdmi fine
Sky+ to liteon fully wired rgb connection worse than composite - also tried s-video, no better.Any one got any ideas how to rectify this?

      Re: poor dvd copy quality

For the best quality results, you need a DVD recorder which has an RGB input, and connect the Sky TV box's TV output to the input of the DVD recorder, and then connect the output of the DVD recorder to the TV's input. Obviously, you have to have the Sky box set up to output RGB rather than composite. The only Scart connector on the Sky box which has RGB output is the TV one. The VCR Scart on the Sky box only has composite.

The problem is that very few DVD recorders seem to have an RGB input.

Thats a shame on both counts. Guess i will have to loan the recorder first and see what the results are like. Thanks for the explanation
