    Spare sky+ box

This is a discussion on Spare sky+ box within the Sky+ forums, part of the Sky & Sky+ TV category; Hoping to have HD fitted. What can I do with my lonely old Sky+ box? Can I sell it?...

What version of Sky+ is it? PVR3?

As, tbh, Not many people will buy a 2nd hand anymore, Purely becuase you can get a brand new (or next to new) for around 50 dependin on where you look.

Why not have it refitted into another room?

If I give it away (to my dad) what would he have to do? Just put his existing viewing card in?

Yes, and then pair it up with Sky. Ideally to get the full functionality he will need an extra feed from the dish. (if you want to record 2 channels at once)

      Re: Spare sky+ box

To pair it up is free. You will need to pair the card with the Sky+ box. You would also need a quad LNB and some cable, if you do the job yourself probably about 30. (As long as your Father has an existing Sky TV contract.)

50? Where might be a good starting point to look?

      Re: Spare sky+ box

If you recommend a friend to Sky there is an offer where you and your friend get Sky+ free. Get your Dad to recommend someone, he will get it free.
