Or would I have to get a local installer to do it?

Curry's are doing Sky+ boxes for 29 + 30 install. If you do not require the install, they still bill the 30. See other threads for T&Cs - inc "do I have to buy something" - answer is no, not really, depending on store

So why not pay the 49 and then get the engineer to swap from single LNB to quad when he calls....should be part of the 49 deal.

I am just off to my local branch to order one now.

What about the following scenario: I have a Sky TV subscription and I buy a second-hand Sky Plus box complete with card (paired to the box). I want to keep my existing digibox exactly as it is. Are Sky going to charge me for "activating" the Sky Plus box? Apparently there is no monthly charge.
