Sky+ installed at last
After weeks of waiting for BT to reconnect us, we finally had the line activated and ordered Sky+, phone calls and broadband. So far we only have Sky+ installed, so we have been playing with that all weekend, and a great system it is too.
One issue we do have, and may ring the customer service about if I can't get an answer here, is that occasionally the sound appears to go 'whooshy' and jumps. If I change channel and go back it has righted itself. It did it on a recorded radio programme as well. We had attached a DVD player (not a recorder, as we do occasionally watch a DVD), so we unplugged that and put the scart directly into the TV's second connector, but it made no difference.
Would it just be a case of the signal fluctuating? Or is something up with our box? Sorry, I'm at work and don't have model number to hand, so will have to come back with that tomorrow if needed, as we are still without Internet at home. All I can tell you is that it is oblong and all white, if that helps. It doesn't look like the one in the banner ad at top of forum.
Well, there is another issue, and that is that we can't get teletext, despite doing what it tells us on screen - switch to TV and then select 'text' - that doesn't work so we have to put Sky box on standby and resort to the TV's own remote.
Cheers.Last edited by DH59; 19-11-07 at 12:47 PM.

Re: Sky+ installed at last
I would ring Sky and get them to come out and double check. As it is brand new, it should work to your satisfaction.

Thanks for your reply.
I didn't mention in my first post, but I had already rung them on Sunday night when this happened, and they told me to unplug the DVD player. Even after unplugging, it did the same a while later, but then the next time my husband played back the recorded radio programme it was fine.
We sat and watched a couple of programmes last night, and one recorded programme, and everything was fine.
I will keep an eye on it and call them again if it persists.
Oh, and I checked the model last night - it is the same as the one in the banner, I had forgotten what the front looked like. It says Amstrad on the box.Last edited by DH59; 20-11-07 at 09:44 AM.
