      Sky's paperless statements?

Can't see this as a previous thread at all? but we (hubby that is) have just received our lastest Sky statement and, like most other huge companies, have decided to 'persuade' users to go paperless. Infact they have done this automatically and ask if you want to revert back, to do it yourself either through phone, online or remote.

Hubbies fine with this as I can retrieve his statement online if nothing else.

What do other users think about this? are we on our way to being a totally paperless society?
Is this simply to save these companies postage?-we presume it is.

I think it is a great idea, would be even better if companies reduced your billing by a pound to cover the costs they are saving.

It is not all for Carbon Neutral reasons, it saves a fortune and puts some poor person/s out of a job. So the potential savings should be passed onto us imho.

I work in a printers and we do a monthly mag for nat geo, for all the print/finish/mailing the cost is about 8,500 - the royal mail charge more than that to deliver (approx 35,000 copies in post)

(P.S that is when the mail are not on strike, which latley aint alot)

PPS. all printed on recycled stock using soya based inks and all can be recycled even the plastic outer)

I think its a very good idea because I bet the majority of people dont ever look at the statements they get.
