Sky+ on the move (motorhome)
Greetings:
We have a standard Sky box which take away with us when we are on holiday in our motohome.
Our motorhome has an 'Oyster' satellite system with dual LNB which enables us to use the standard decoder box that came with the Oyster system and also plug in our Sky box.
We simply set the satellite dish to tune into Astra 2 and the Sky box works fine.
We are considering (a Christmas treat for me!) upgrading to Sky+. Would anyone forsee any problems using the Sky+ box in a similar way to our normal Sky box?
[I had thought of just using the old Sky box in the motorhome but would it work as I would think that I couldn't switch our viewing card between boxes - anyone have any guidance on this?]
Thanks in advance for advice.

2) When you sign up to Sky+ you agree to have it plugged into the phone line so it can check home
On point 2, you should be OK on, unless you are away for months on end if you get what I mean.

Re: Sky+ on the move (motorhome)
Many thanks for your advice :-)
I understand that we will not be able to use all the features of the Sky+ box when away from home - I guess it will be just like using our existing box.
We're normally away for two to three weeks at a time and haven't encountered any problems with Sky the past five years.
I know I'm sad, but it's nice to sit down with a cold beer to watch Sky Sports in the south of France!

You should hopefully be fine then.
The worst they will do is send you a letter telling you it is not connected.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

. . . and I would reply by saying that the cleaner mistakenly unplugged the phone line when we were on holiday!

I think i am right to say that sky have now allowed sky boxes including Sky+ to be installed without a Bt line

Re: Sky+ on the move (motorhome)
As long as the Sky+ replaced the ordinary Sky box (and you didn't sign up to Multiroom) then I'd say you'd be OK, as long as you allow the box to call home when you get back to blighty. If you went for Multiroom then theres far stricter checks to ensure both boxes are within the property, to stop you sharing a subscription with others.
Why would you want to leave Huddersfield anyway? Gods own county and all.(Lived there for 8 or 9 years).
