No phone line

I have no phone line. Can I still get sky+
Is there any extra charge?

I may stand corrected here, but because of the way information is sent to a sky+box you do need a phone line

A friend of mine has just had Sky+ installed WITHOUT having a BT phone line - she had to phone up to order and after some to-ing and fro-ing was told that a new scheme had been launched whereby she could pay £25 extra and not have a bt line - so she went ahead! - she has had it confirmed several times by Sky and the installing engineer didn't question the fact that there was no linebox to connect to.

Even better still the £25 charge was also credited back to her account?!?!?!?

You may have some fun trying to get this to go through - but I can definately confirm that it's happened at least once!

My step daughter is having a normal skybox installed without a phone line but she was told that they were unable to have a sky+box without a phone line, may be that since her conservations with them they have changed their stragegy

AFAIK having sold insurance for Sky in the past
The phone is solely there to upload box usage stats to Sky, as well as order interactive and make it easier to order PPV events.
Otherwise its just a damned nuisance that messes with ADSL etc.
