      Sky+ HDD upgrading

      Hi Guy's

      I have a Pace Pvr3 limited edt england (model no. TDS470N) unit in which I want to upgrade the Hard disk to 250gb+

      what is the best HDD to use without any trouble and low noise?

      Quote stolen from a well known forum that starts with a D, and from someone that posts quite a lot on the Sky+ forum...

      Personally I would be going with the Seagate ST3250820ACE if I needed a new 250GB drive at the moment, but I agree they are hard to find.
      Ultratec have the non-CE version of this drive for a reasonable price, and it's probably much the same/identical as the Maxtor drive with the same model number (since Maxtor have been acquired by Seagate).
      Me, personally, I'm running just a generic 250gb from Maplins as I was out when the HDD broke just grabbed the first one I could get hold of as the missus wasn't too pleased at losing sky+...

      see the link in my sig, there are 2 or 3 links to sites with full info on how to do the upgrade for each type of box and how each hard drive that has been tested will perform.

      so is 250gb the largest HDD I can replace it with ???

      you can go over 250GB (even 750GB!!!!).

      You'll need to have a read of the link that I provided thou to get the full info.
