problems recording - clashes when recording only 1 programme

I hope someone can help me. I am having a couple of problems recording with my PACE PVR3 sky+.

1. a programme i have set to record is not recording but saying that the program has clashed, even though it was the only programme recording.

2. when i press the R - record button on a programme i can't then go onto another programme because then all other channels say that there is a technical fault with that channel and try again later. The channels are fine if i stop the recording.

Turning off the sky+ box at the plug and then re-booting seems to put this problem right for a short while, but these problems seems to be happening with increasing frequency.

Report the fault to sky.

Go into services, signal test, you should see a signal bar for both LNB's, ensure you have both over half way with the same for quality.

If not check the 'f' connectors at the back of the receiver to see if either are loose, you could try swapping them over to see which one isn't working.

Next step is to ensure that there are no breaks in either of the cables, follow them back to the dish to ensure something hasn't rubbed against them.

Now up to the dish, check the 'f'connectors to the LNB, you may as well swap them onto the two spare points just to be sure. (don't swing to hard on the dish, you don't want to move it).

If none of this works you could either ring Sky and get them out (£65) if out of warranty or chance buying a new quad LNB, £15 from e-bay and swapping it although this may not 100% be the problem.

The same problem has started again i have a clashed recording of last nites most haunted, and now a clashed recording of murder she wrote just now.

Its a new sky+ box, so surely it can't be the box, could it be a faulty lnb on the dish causing it? as the cable to the dish has been found with no problems by a local satellite engineer.

well, I have rung my local satellite services(megaray), told them I keep getting failed/clashed recordings. They should be turning friday, i hope. £15 for the call out tho.

I'm not touching/doing anything until engineer turns up. Then I will tell you after then.

Could be faulty lnb? would that cause clashed recordings? or would that be the box playing up? i noticed the other night during 1 recording, the recording sign was not showing up in the planner, past th redcording time, but in the menus, there was an 'r' showing next to the program. Plus, If I went to the channel(Living2), using the EPG, it was showing a technical fault error on that channel, and only that channel during the recording, right up until the end, then I get picture n sound and channel back. After that, then the recording is shown as 'clashed' failed rec, clashed, 0%.

The same problem is happening now! same program, same time + technical fault with living2 only, have just rebooted box, recording is back, and channel comes up ok now. Why does this happen. When is the next firmware upgrade? this frustrates, me, I have to reboot all the time/every night now!

I bought box from my local satellite services(megaray), cost me £150 for a new one almost 2 months
almost. I believe its a Pace Model No. TDS470NB, my old sky+ plus box was a Amstrad Model No. DRX280.

Both models says on them 80gb storage space.
