      Exclamation Problem with Pace box...

      hello

      am anticipating a bad answer to this question because i've googled (which brought me here eventually!) and i called sky tech support (early hours of the morning though) and they had no idea what to do

      there i was happily half-watching the tv and then it just fell silent, the picture going onto the blue AV screen - although the green 'on' light was on. i did the unplug/plug in thing a few times - and each time it would only get as far as the light being green, never any further, no box, nothing. beyond that i can't even switch it off - either with the remote or the button on the box - it just stays green.

      i tried a forced software download in my despair, but nothing. no difference at all.

      i'm scared someone's going to tell me the box needs replacing, i'm surprised though - does the hard drive just go like that? it hasn't been playing up or given any signs that it's about to die...

      okay just called tech support - of course they dont know what's wrong, have never heard of this before and offered to send an engineer out.

      no thank you, ebay here i come i guess...

      Clairus99, If Sky have offered to send out an Engineer, I take it that is at there expense, Not yours?

      I wouldnt rush to eBay just yet. There might be some life in the box and it just needs a kick to get there.

      Is your Sky+ box the newer with Anytime? If not then when/if Sky come out you may get one of those, Not a "brand-new" but a refurb/recon which are just as good.

      If not then eBay is the place to go.
