      sky pin

      hi

i find the having to enter the pin number everytime i want to watch a movie i have recorded the night before a constant pain.
i understand its to stop kids watching what they shouldn't but it annoys the hell out of me.

is there a way to turn the thing off?

      thanks

      Re: sky pin

Is there anything else to do (ie a reset or power down?)

I've changed the settings, but it keeps asking me.

I don't think this works. You can only lock programs with it, not over-ride the setting. This is not really a Sky thing, it is an Ofcom regulation that films with an over 12 rating cannot be shown before 9pm unless a PIN is used. Unfortunately this applies to films recorded on the Sky box and Anytime films. I don't know if this also applies to films recorded with the Manual setting (Services >7) Ihave never tried it as I find it easier just to stick in the PIN. You can change the PIN you know, to something easy to put in like 1111, but you have to do it by phone
