Sky+ Recording - Have They Gone Mad?

Friday 10th August - I am Subscribed to Sky Sports 1&3.
Watching Live Cricket Test match Day 2.
At 5pm I decided to record the rest of the match - Recorded OK.

Sky changed day 3 and 4 of the Test match to Sports 2 and I have arranged my subscription to change too. This happens when football takes a priority.

Saturday 11th August - Sky Sports 2 is working, Sports 1 Off as arranged.

I tried to watch the SS1 recording from Friday but because I am not subscribed to SS1, I cannot view it. The recording is there and the front panel lights say it is playing. This is madness.

I tried to get the whole of the match but failed again.

Yep you can only watch recorded channels that you are subscribed to.

In theory if you don't subscribe to (say) Sky movies, you can still record the channels and the they become viewable when you do subscribe in the future.

Never tried it out thou as ive always had the full package.

It does seem a bit harsh, but I think it stems from the film channels to stop people from subscribing for a very short period to record more films than they could physically watch and then stop subcribing and still have a load of films to watch.

Yup they are very stritch when it comes to digital rights, we had our Sky+ boxed moved upstairs when we got HD and as the viewing card changed all the stuff we had on the Sky+ box we couldn't watch as it had "the wrong viewing card" and we lost about 30 hours of recordings.
