      yes it could but:

      a) standard sky boxes dont have a hard drive, so the feature can never work on standard boxes
      b) not all sky+ have a reserved area on the hard drive
      c) it would require completely new code developing and writing, is that where people want the money from their subs spending?

      I dont really think points a and b are completely true as the i info could be downloaded quickly from dish as its not much and be kept in main memory like the EPG is currently doing but yes it would require a re-write of some of the system and it all could be activated in next software upgrade via dish.
