Free Sky+ Box
Interesting mailing from Sky today.
"Be a great mate.
Give a friend a free Sky+ box with free
standard installation. Worth £159."
One off £40 activation fee applies .
I need to hand a friend a voucher and they
call 08703 360 159 quoting "Sky+ 1AF" by June 17.
They need to buy a Sky package, minimum £15 a month.
Unfortunately, I don't have any friends.

Re: Free Sky+ Box
Maybe you could tempt Ged with this lmao!
We have these every so often, But havent bothered giving them out, as
a) Most of them are on Sky
b) They are believed to be Refurbs and if they mess up, They are stuck for 12 Months.

Re: Free Sky+ Box
Surely, you have to be a new customer to get it free, IE Never had an existing Sky Account. Normally is.
~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Free Sky+ Box
Correct.
So now, before someone shouts
Why do new customers get it free but not existing customers.
Let me say it's often known as a
New Business Incentive.
The small print is on the voucher but should be here too.
SKY
I just clicked on the link and it appears to be about a different
incentive altogether so you may need to read the voucher.Last edited by murdock; 05-06-07 at 10:08 PM. Reason: correction

Re: Free Sky+ Box
The voucher appears to have a unique code.
So I guess they can track it back to me.
My PM is buzzing but please note I never give out
my name, address or email address to anyone on the Internet.
Even to my friends at Skyuser.
The key points in the small print appears to be:
1 The friend must be a new customer.
2 They must take out a new 12 month contract.
(minimum £15 a month.)
4 There is the one off £40 activation fee.
3 The new customer cannot be:
a relative
in the same household
or work for BSkyB.
If you are a first time, new customer, phone up
and mention the free Sky+ box offer
I would be surprised if you were not offered it.

Re: Free Sky+ Box
@Murdock, It isnt unique to you, We had that exact same code, I think, They need to quote that along with your account number and post code and contact number, Which is the main reason I was reluctant to post about it aswell.
Im totally flabbergasted as to why they dont offer it to current customers aswell, As they are more likely to get it and get more then the £15 mix, As new customer or old, They will both be in a new 12 month agreement and have the minimum £15 and actually on the old customer, They could entice them to Multiroom.
afaik, They probably only want this for New Customers as its soon the end of Sky's Financial Year so they can up the number of Customers they can report.

Re: Free Sky+ Box
Hi All,
I've been really keen to get Sky+ for the last few weeks, I've just been waiting for the right deal to come along and this is about as good as it gets right now.
I'm a brand new subscriber (never had sky before) and after seeing murdock's post this evening I gave sky a call and the I was initially on hold for about 20 mins waiting to get through, but when I did finally get through the chap who answered was really helpful and knew all about the offer, I just mentioned the key bits from the leaflet that murdock posted above and the guy was absolutely fine about it, no problems at all.
Before I called I took the liberty of speaking to a friend of mine who currently has Sky+ and got his details and I did have to provide my friends name, address and phone number as the referral details, which was fine by sky.
I'm now on the £21 a month package with free, brand new (apparently) Sky+ box for a minimum of 12 months and it cost me £40 for the one off activation fee, it's being installed next week. Good times!
So to anyone who is unsure, this is a genuine offer, you do not seem to need the individual voucher code but you will need a current subscribers details. I think the key to this working is phoning on the number provided above as this is the introduce a friend only number, the chap I spoke to knew all about it straight away and said he's been really busy with people phoning about this today. He was more than happy to sign me up, no queries or issues at all.
Thanks to murdock for posting this as he's saved me £119 and I'm much obliged! Sky+ has been missing for far too long from my life.
Cheers

Re: Free Sky+ Box
alot of companys i deal with lately have forgotten about customer loyalty - they seem to forget new customers soon become existing and then leave as fast as they are forgotten.
it's a companys worst problem - customer churn. they need to slow down and satisfy all
look at o2 - since they started offering same deals to all customers churn has gone down three fold to 13% which is good for a mobile network
others need to follow..

Free standard Sky Box + installation aswell?!
Thanks for posting this Murdock.
I too have been lurking on here waiting for the right Sky+ deal to come along and this is it
Just to take this a step further, does anyone think/know if they will let me have a free standard box with free installation aswell?!
Naturally I would be happy to pay £10 multiroom to bag such a deal!!
