I have a Pace Version 2 Sky+ box and have had this since Sept 2003 and had no problems with it until yesterday.
Got in from work yesterday, only to discover that the box had rebooted itself, wiped my entire planner of recorded programmes and programmes to be recorded.
Then when I try to use recording facilities, I get an error message stating that Sky+ facilities unavailable and I need to call Sky+ to resolve the issue.
When I contacted Sky, she knew exactly what the error message was as I explained the problem. Something to do with the space on the Hard disk.
I then did a full housekeeping reset and now all is OK.
Does anybody know why this has happened? Is my Sky+ box on it's way out?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: sky+ issues
We had the same with our Sky + a while back and turned out the hard drive was on it's way out.( confirmed with a few tests ). Just changed the old 40 gig for a Western Digital 40 gig we had lying spare and did a reset and has been ok ever since. ( the box was well out of it's warranty )http://www.speedtest.net/

Re: sky+ issues
don't be surprised if the same thing happens again.
It's a classic sign of a failing hard drive. The full system reset does fix the problem and you may be lucky as it could last for a while yet, but at some point it will do the same.
See the link in my sig on upgrading your hard drive.
