      stutter/jumping ahead/loss of lip sync

Hi all, I have a 20 hour Amstrad Sky+ box with 12% of free space. It has now started to skip /stutter etc on playback. Can I defrag the hard drive? Does any one have any clues?

Re: stutter/jumping ahead/loss of lip sync

what you are looking for is a planer rebuild you might have to do a full system rest.

      planer rebuild

      press the following bottons

services,4,0,1 and select - that take you in to the installers menu its hiden so remeber to press the 0

then highlight planner rebuild press select
then it will come up housekeeping please wait should only last up to 2 minutes

the box will switch to standby leave it for 60 seconds then turn the box back on sky say to press tv then sky (sky works on its own)

if this dosen't solve it you might need to do a full system rest (format) also in the installers menu.

also look to see if you have a sky+ with the anytime tv on if so they remomend you remove the two lmb feeds and leave them for 30 seconds once both are off just to make sure it not a cable issue.

Wink Re: stutter/jumping ahead/loss of lip sync

Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum and am here through a last ditch attempt at clearing this very same problem up. I was told how to do the system restore by a technician once but he said it would lose all recorded programs on the hard drive, is this correct??

Also, it only seems to do this on certain channels like Skyone and Cartoon Network which is quite annoying as i'm a Skyone junkie and the wife and kids love the Cartoon Network. Could it be that i'm wearing these channels out from constant viewing!!! (obviously not but )

      Cheers guys

Re: stutter/jumping ahead/loss of lip sync

I seem to have similar problems but not just on playback. It mostly happens during films and anything we watch on sky one or UKtv gold. The lip sync starts off alright but after a few minutes the sound is coming through faster than the visuals.

Can anyone off a resolution to this one? Cheers

Re: stutter/jumping ahead/loss of lip sync

The answer to this problem is here:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky/1...-resolved.html

No amount of resetting the box or planner rebuilding will sort out the problem, but there is a fix - just follow the above link.
