Sky +
I am sorry for posting this here i realize it dosn't relate to sky broadband, but i would like to try and get the answer!! I take that having paid £99 for a sky + box it is yours ? i.e. if you left sky you could keep it, which leads me to the next question could the Sky + box be used as a PDR for normal TV/Cable TV or does it only work with sky i.e. could you plug in an alternative video feed via scart i suppose that could be recorded ?? i am not planning to leave sky !! but am thinking about buying a PDR, i was thinking about sky + but then thought about the cost i.e. £99 then £10 a month soon builds up if you use it for a few year, so i guess it would be handy if you could keep it if you left sky and if it could serve another purpose also, otherwise it becomes an expensive useless bit of kit !! where as buying a another PDR system ie from Sony etc would be cheaper in the long run wouldn't have to pay £10 a month and could be used with other video sources. thanks for any help

Re: Sky +
yes the box is 100% yours (only caveat is you may have to leave it plugged into a phone line for 12mths dependent on the T&Cs of your contract).
no, it can only be used as a PVR with a sky+ sub and only records from the EPG.

Re: Sky +
So in short it is a potentially expensive box (if you had it for a few years) that can only work with sky hmmm....., i know the sky+ service gives you extra bits and bobs, but dont know if it is worth it. does anyone use any other type of PVR that they rate??
