Sky+ questions - advice needed
I currently have Sky but I would like Sky+, there is two leads coming from our dish from the previous owner having Sky+ so all the hardware is in place, can I just buy a + box from ebay, swap my viewing card, plug in the extra cable from the LNB and everything work?
Cheers
Stewart

Re: Sky+ questions - advice needed
you also need to ring sky to 'marry' the card with the new box and to ask them to switch on the sky+ functionality to your account.... otherwise 'yes'.

PaceV2 has always been thought to be the best of the earlier models.

Re: Sky+ questions - advice needed
I've had very bad experiences with the Thomson Sky+ boxes so they are not on my recommendation list.

Re: Sky+ questions - advice needed
Ring Sky, You might be able to get a £49 offer out of them for the Newer Pace PVR3

Re: Sky+ questions - advice needed
Sky have never let you specify the box before. You just get what the man has in the van at the time. The £49 offer is also always a refurb (which I appreciate ebay will be no better, but at least you know exactly what box you are getting).
Worth a try, but I wouldn't trust you'd get the box you'd asked for.
the V3 also has the 40Gb reserved for sky anytime so you don't get the full hard drive space where as V2 you can put up to 500Gb drive in there if you want.
