      sky+ recording problem

      hi all

i have had a problem with recording, i think i have anyway, the program recorded ok but when i played it back the picture kept going funny, it kept cutting out.

also i have found there is a problem with sound on recording too, on parts where there is a lot of base, the tv speakers go very crackly and it a brand new tv so i dont think it is that.

what do you think i should, ring for a replacement or is it an easy fix?

      thanks
      si

      Re: sky+ recording problem

Have you tried resetting the box? (Unplug and plug back in...let sit for 60 seconds and turn on).
If so, then try a "force download"...
on the front of the box is a button marked "backup". Press and hold this button and without letting it go, unplug the box until the lights go out, and plug back in. Hold down the button until all the lights on the front of the box come on. Your tv should now say downloading or something like that and that it can take up to 15 minutes. let this sit until the message dissappears. This will download the newest software for your box. If it's a software problem, this will resolve it. If its a hardware problem, you will probably need a new box...but check all your cables first too, it could always be a loose connection somewhere.
