      Record Function

I'm sure this question has already been answered here somewhere but I cannot find it!
My Mum takes her viewing card to her caravan and use's it in an old Sky box, she gets all the channels apart from the Movies, she is quite happy with this because she dosen't want to keep ringing Sky to pair the card every time she goe's to the caravan. Now the question is, she is having the Sky+ box at home replaced with an HD box so if we was to install the old Sky+ box at the caravan would the record function work on the channels she does get without pairing the card?
      Thanks in advance.
      Kev.

      Re: Record Function

If you do not have a card in the STB, then Anytime/Showcase and anything else scheduled will not record.

She could consider getting a Freeview or Freeview+ STB for her caravan. That will allow her to see quite a few channels, just not the Sky channels.

Cheers for the reply The question was really Will the record function work when the card is inserted but not paired? she is not worried what happens when she it not staying at the caravan because the box there will probably be powered off.
      Cheers Kev.

      Re: Record Function

If, for example, should a programme be on whilst she is driving, then the recording will fail.

The card will allow her to record if the box is a Sky+ or Sky+ HD STB and it is paired to it.

      Re: Record Function

It will not record without having the card paired to it. If she wants to record/playback she would have to take the new box with her.

      Cheers for the replies peeps.
Oh well I will scrap that idea then, she is in her 70's so wont want to be lugging box's about and reconnecting them, she quite often forgets to bring the viewing card back from the caravan! Lol
