Anyone had sky waive the cost of a card?

      Hi

Just wondering if any sky subscriber has managed to talk sky into not charging them 20 for a second card (for free channels) on another box in the house, when they're already paying a subscription for a main box. Started getting the message now on my old box in the kitchen, that it will soon stop working, but i'm a bit grumped at having to hand over 20, when i already pay them money every month, and the fact my broadband has just gone up too.

      joe

Pay the 20, the alternative is to have Multiroom (which is almost what you are doing) and then pay 10 every month. As the card costs Sky a reasonable amount to produce (and mail) then 20 doesn't seem bad if it last for 5 years. After all how do they know the card is for you and not someone who isn't a customer at all (or even worse lives abroad).

      Hi,
I have a full sky subscription and also had a freesat from sky card in a second box,I lost channel 5 and was told by sky that I had to purchase a new freesat card as the old one was over 3 years old. I told them I would cancel my subscription and hey presto they have me buy a new card for 20 and then credit my subscription account with 20,so the card was really replaced for free.

freesat and sky, considered 2 different companies

if you want a new card with SKY, you need multiroom, 10 a month

freesat - you pay a one off 20 charge for a viewing card. sky customer service CANNOT order this...ray r, wat u smokin?

Sky supply freesat cards for their own boxes.
