      Ultra fast plus socket query

      Evening
Have just agreed to have ultrafast plus set up Dec 1st .
My main BT socket is downstairs with hard wired connection from this socket with phone cable to upstairs socket which is my main computer room . Run all other things from upstairs router via Wi Fi (PS4 Sky Q TV etc)
Now I've been informed the new upgrade means I need new fibre socket next to Original BT socket with extension.
Can I reconnect the original extension(tele cable) to new socket sky will fit ?
Don't want to have to rip up carpet and flooring to run new ethernet cable on route of phone extension.
      Cheers Paul

With any luck the Openreach engineer will fit the fibre box where it is most convenient to you.
Don't forget it will also require a power socket.
The existing telephone connections will be unused.

How does the existing copper cable come in, underground or overhead wire?
Does the bedroom have an external wall?

I'm assuming you don't already have the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) installed, so this may give you some information on what you can expect.

Re: Ultra fast plus socket query

Comes in UG to box inside ,computer room does have outside wall and would be nice of he would run to their but as described would be 20m run from existing. May have to purchase ultra flat cat 7 cables and run them to computer room or run one and use ethernet box.. will have to take to flooring up and carpet but suppose if I want proper connection its only way ..
