      Unless you live in York (or one of the other couple of areas where it has been trialled by Sky and *might* be expected to eventually roll out to), one day you may be in luck if you live in a big city - but I won't recommend holding your breath until there's nationwide coverage (think how much investment that would require!)...

      It will more likely be a wireless tech like 5g or similar that brings these speeds before a wire does, or possibly a tech for the existing wire. I see FTTH coming to towns like mine with FTTC before cities because of 0 competition from Virgin and relatively low install costs because most people are very close to their cabinet. Personally if they can get me to the 100 mark I won't care unless 4k movies etc become the norm.

      I'd be happy with that guaranteed 50neg service right now, and especially for 10pm.

      this is definitely worth doing. I registered my interest with Sky when they put up 'that' page years ago regarding FTTC. I totally forgot about it until they called me asking if i was interested on being on the SFU trial back in 2012
