Re: Discovery & Eurosport channels etc.,

There are other legitimate means to watch these channels. One spam message I've seen, which was removed, advertised a service that costs 5.99 per month. It has apps for Android and iOS devices.

(if you recognise this service please don't post the details as we don't like spammers)

I did install the app on my tablet and the free catchup content I could watch had their adverts shoved at the beginning. The quality of some of the live channels was terrible compared to what you can get on Sky Go. I don't know about the quality when you sign up to the month free trial or pay the subscription.

Probably not. You cant watch recorded programmes on sky unless the channel is live and part of your subscription. I expect it to be the same.

I'm a month into a year long Sky Q package (If I had known that half my viewed channels would disappear then I would have thought twice - Discovery etc was one of the reasons I got sky in the first place!) after being an "out of contract" Sky+ customer for 10 years.

I'm not that bothered about the channels but I'd rather not pay for something I am not getting....

I only noticed last night when watching a documentary and the message came up.
If the channels are removed you will be able to get a small-ish discount on your subscription or be able to downgrade to a lower package without any termination charges (if applicable normally).

This will depend on how exactly Discovery chooses to remove the channels from the Sky platform. This issue isn't down to Sky. Given how they've conducted their campaign I would suspect they will make their recordings unplayable.

#KeepDiscovery - Calling all Sky and Now TV viewers: You may lose your favourite discovery programmes and channels

      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I be able to watch Discovery’s portfolio of channels on Sky and NOW TV after 31 January?

Firstly, thank you for being the best fans in TV. We have reached an agreement, which means all your favourite channels and programmes will be staying on Sky and NOW TV.

      Why has this been resolved?

We worked hard to reach a resolution with Sky and it was successful. Your incredible support over the past few days has been truly amazing. Thank you so much. We couldn’t have done it without you.

So is it all definitely sorted?

Yes, absolutely. We look forward to bringing you more of the TV you love in the weeks, months and years to come.

What action do I need to take?

Nothing. Please sit back, relax and enjoy watching Discovery, Eurosport, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Quest and more with Sky and NOW TV.

      What is this about?

Discovery Channel, Eurosport, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Quest, Discovery History, Discovery Shed, Home and Health, DMAX, Discovery Science and Discovery Turbo will continue to be available on Sky and NOW TV.

I have cancelled my Sky contract. What do I do now?

As well as Sky, our channels are also available with Virgin Media and BT TV. Thanks again for your amazing support.

Great news, we can confirm that Sky will continue to carry the Discovery and Eurosport channels. This means you can still watch channels including: Animal Planet, Discovery HD, Discovery History, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Science, Discovery Shed, Discovery Turbo, DMAX, Eurosport1, Eurosport2, Investigation Discovery, TLC and Quest.

We are also delighted to announce a new deal with PBS America that will bring the best of PBS's factual programming to Sky, covering history, science, current affairs, arts and culture.
