      Blame winter for everything

Game of Thrones' seventh season could see a bit of a delay, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said on a recent UFC Unfiltered podcast appearance, thanks to winter finally arriving.

HBO's flagship series usually premieres between the end of March and beginning of April, but both showrunners explained they didn't have to worry about weather because until now, the show has taken place during perpetual summer. Now that winter has arrived, weather has to be taken into account and that delay in filming could lead to a delay in the seventh season's premiere.

"So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot," Benioff and Weiss said.

HBO hasn't confirmed if the show will start later, but we do know that the newest season will be shorter than the others. Benioff and Weiss previously said they didn't want to the final two seasons to contain 10 episodes, as previous seasons have had.

Total BS they've run out of book so they're giving G.R.R.M. a few more months to bring out the next bit. Maybe.
