      Re: Sky Talk Unlimited

Tech support told me it did but it was T1 and she probably did not understand what I was asking very well.
I'm going off track but we pay for tech on top of Sky talk on top of our broad band fee, on top of our TV fee. I'd have to agree that it should cover our calls to Sky tech support but I don't mind it not covering other 0870 numbers.
Apart from this small moan I find it a great service.
      MAX package.

      Re: Sky Talk Unlimited

The 0800 numbers will be free (if you get charged then contact ofcom)

What i have found is a site that converts the costly 0845/0870 numbers to local/national numbers , which are free on Anytime, SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers

It has most companies listed and is very good. I have saved loads when calling Child tax Credit line on the local number instead of the 0870 300 3900 number.

I'm sure Sky will thank you for this free bit of advertising - but you try getting the service!

I ordered Sky Talk Unlimited over six weeks ago and I still do not have it. Sky tell me that BT reject their application to take over the charging of my calls but cannot say why!! However, when I speak to BT to find out why they tell me that this is nonsense! BT have checked my line and my account and there is no reason why such a request (called CPS) would be rejected. \the problem is they will not speak to each other to resolve whatever the problem is.

I have now opted to also pay my line rental to Sky instead of BT (a new service I understand) to see if this will speed things up but after a further two weeks the silence is deafening!

I decided to migrate all my TV/Broadband and Phone services from Virgin to Sky a couple of months ago but I'm realising that I may have made a BIG mistake.

What the hell is wrong with Sky? don't they want our business? Not only does it cost the customer to advise them of THEIR problems and errors but if you do manage to speak to anyone (after a long wait) who can demonstrate any knowledge, the promises they make that they say will resolve the problem(s) just never happen

You may regret doing that because you will hand Sky the freedom to charge you whatever they like for calls (i.e. you will not then be able to dial the 1280 prefix to hop back onto BT for calls for which they are cheaper and, in all probability, you'll be barred from using the likes of 1899, 18185 and 18866 - so your calls to UK mobiles and to non-inclusive countries will be more expensive).
