      Re: Line rental

If you definitely DO NOT get your home broadband service from the likes of BT, Sky, PlusNet etc., where the service is effectively provided over a telephone landline, then you don't seem to need a landline. Bingo! Cost saving!

BUT If you DO get your home broadband service from the likes of BT, Sky, PlusNet etc., where the service is effectively provided over a telephone landline, then you can't really avoid paying for line rental.

I think VM can provide broadband only without line rental (and without a phone service).

Also I think AAISP do something similar.

But apparently the cost reduction isn't as big as you might expect.

And nor is the cost reduction of not having to pay line rental expected to be that big when "Naked DSL" products appear at some time in the future.
