      Re: Caller ID

The Caller ID service has always been automatic, so I don't know what has gone wrong there.

It is possible to both disable and enable the service. Try the following:

      Sky Help: Caller display
If you donít see the message

      Dial star (*), 2, 3, 4, hash (#) to activate the service.

If you still find itís not switched on, but there are no other problems with your line or telephone, please contact us.

It may be possible to set up your phone to display names if someone you know is ringing you, to make it easier to identify callers. Youíll need to refer to your phone manual or check with the manufacturer to do this.

It could be that from the 1st of dec 2014 everybody will have to pay for the Call ID service £1 month.

Really, that sucks. I have rung Sky help hours ago, still waiting for them to call back. Will ring again.

      Thank you

Are you sure? I thought it was the Answer service which was being put on the 'pay' list together with Call Waiting.

      Re: Caller ID

      Hi

I have spoken to SKY and they tell me Caller ID was not added to my account, it has to be added it is not automatic. It will now take 24 hours then I can activate it. I checked there is not going to be a charge from 1st December, so thats good news.

      Thank you all

As Tom has correcty pointed out, it was the Sky Talk Ansaphone service that is chargeable, not Caller ID.

I believe that Caller ID is chargeable with BT Retail.

      Re: Caller ID

Caller ID and the 1571 ansaphone service are chargeable with BT. That was one of the reasons I moved to the Post Office for phone services - both are included in the line rental charge.
