      Getting my phone number back

Hi all, recently (10th Oct) switched my elderly parents phone and BB from TalkTalk to Sky, for whatever reason the number was not transfered over and I really need it back.

I have been ringing/emailing TT & Sky to try and sort this but just keep going around in circles from one adviser to the next.

Sky says the number was unavailable at the time so I was given a new one.

Emailed TT to find out if they have released the number and if not why not, still waiting for a reply, phone help at TT is more than useless..
On the Ofcom site it says that TT would HAVE to release the number but Sky haven`t got to use it.. http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/phonossitch1

I was advised by Sky Help that because my phone services are currently active they cant switch the number back BUT I could cancel my current contract and then immediately take out a new one with my original number

Rang Sky and they say its not possible yet Sky Help (official Sky contact us) repeated to me that it IS possible just that they cant do it themselves..

      1: Is it possible?
2: Is there a cooling off period where I could end this contract to take out a new one without early termination fees etc?
3: I have read that Sky gives a 30 day Broadband and Talk Satisfaction Guarantee.. Is this still active?

Where do I go from here?

      Any advice much appreciated....

if number s not released by talk talk then sky would have to provide new number (if by certain time number is not released) , only way to get number back is to cancel and try to reorder or switch back to TT (along as this service has not been cancelled then number will still be available )

Could you escalate one for me.... I am going the other way Sky-TT, taking my number with me...Sky thought it was a malicious transfer so cancelled switchover, even though I told them of transfer and did give me a MAC code... they forgot to tell openreach who disconnected my line haven't had a phone line since 4th Oct... Have had 1 person on Sky who have taken control of things and been very helpfull, but TT struggling to get my phone number back back.... Sky have admitted that it is their fault but need this all resolved, passed around & really getting pi**ed off...Wifey is going bananas.

Who is liable for this 'SEAMLESS' transfer? Grrr

Sorry for hijacking this thread & if you want will aise a new one

      Hello steviebhoy,

I think in your case it would be safer to email Sky's executive team to get this chased through:
