I think this means as I suggested, if the call is made within your 'free' time, its free. If its outside your free time, in your case any time except the weekend, you pay for it. If you have a lot of diverted calls, it may pay you to upgrade your calls package, but the cost would need to exceed 5 a month.

But calls to mobiles are never free with sky, so surely a call that's diverted to one will have to be paid for, regardless of package / weekend etc?

Yes I think you are correct. However Sky know my plan is "weekend" and as you can see they said there were no extra charges. I have emailed Customer Support again for clarification. Interestingly, whilst checking their tariffs, I noticed that weekends and Freetime (free calls 7pm to 7am) both have no monthly charge, which is strange. (Knowing that why would anyone choose weekends ? ) I tried to upgrade online but Sky web site has no provision for this. I emailed CS who asked for my phone number (?) so they could phone me back. I am still waiting lol.

Yes, I was about to check that point, but you seem to have answered it first.

Re: Forwarding Sky landline calls to mobile

My understanding is that any call charge for call diversion is always borne by the person doing the call diversion & such call charge is made at the prevailing rate for the destination. That's regardless of which phone provider you're on.

So, if you're on weekend tariff and you divert your calls to another landline number, you wouldn't be charged for the call diversion during the weekend when calls are free, but you would be charged for the call diversion on weekdays when calls are not free.

Likewise, if you're on weekend tariff and you divert your calls to a mobile number, you would be charged for the call diversion at all times because calls to mobile are chargeable at all times.

The landline diverter pays the cost of diversion, not the original caller nor the receiver of the diversion (be it landline or mobile).

That's my understanding of it. If I'm wrong, please correct me!

Have just checked the Sky tariff and Sky talk 24/7 which I assume is anytime, charges to mobiles 7 pence connection charge and 12.5 pence per minute. Seems a lot of money to me ?

      Rates went up on 1/9
A 13.87p connection fee applies to all non-inclusive UK landline, local NTS, mobile and international calls.

Daytime calls to mobiles 12.77ppm and that's weekends, Freetime or anytime ?????

It's all quite complicated, but just check BT and they have a one if monthly charge for call diverts of 3,75 and rounded up their onward call charge is 22ppm.

Following introduction of BT sport I asked Sky if I could cancel but got refused because my sky talk is less than 12 months old.

      This is interesting though:

You can cancel telephone and broadband at any time with any company. They must cancel if you request it.

The problem you will have is that they will charge you an Early Termination Charge for leaving early.
Whether you're happy to pay this or not, they cannot stop you.
