I am surprised that they had problems understanding you.

As you say, English (actually American, not English) is widely spoken due to the huge American bases there.

It was very difficult communicating with them. Mind you, they were too busy yapping amongst themselves at the nursing station, ignoring the patients.
That was all nationalities not just those from the Philippines.

I have since met many people from the Philippines due to my friend living there and they all seem to have a good grasp of English.

      Re: Sky Talk Anytime going.

Well the 13th has duly arrived and Sky have updated their product page: Sky Talk compare - compare Sky Talk products. No Philippines and a 100% price hike for those wanting the international option but the Indian sub-continent is now included and even mobile calls to Hong Kong. For those who have always regarded the lack of free 0845 numbers as a reason to stay with BT Sky now offer inclusive 0845 calls in both of its new anytime packages.

      Excellent.
      Thanks seawright.

Hopefully there'll be no problems switching from anytime to anytime uk with them being the same price...

As long as doing so doesn't start a new 12 month contract.
My dad will want to make the switch but has paid the line rental up front.

I also notice there's no 'offer available until' date regarding the up front line rental payment anymore.

      Re: Sky Talk Anytime going.

I don't like the other sting in the tail : If you want to call an 0845 number for free, then it'll cost you 10 per month.

A lot of Government departments use 0845. Those who are on benefits will suffer the most for this one.

      Re: Sky Talk Anytime going.

Check "Here's the legal bit" Scubbie. Sky Talk UK does offer inclusive calls to 0845 numbers:
Sky Talk Anytime UK: #UK calls of up to an hour to 01, 02, 03, 0870 & 0845 numbers only (excludes Channel Islands, indirect access & dial-up internet numbers and 070 numbers)

      Re: Sky Talk Anytime going.

Thanks seawright, the headline bit for "what's included" excludes the 0845 numbers for the Sky Talk Anytime UK product.

This is a move in the right direction I guess then.

When it comes down to it, it is a 100% increase for Sky Talk Anytime, with only the inclusion of 0845 numbers as compensation.

      Re: Sky Talk Anytime going.

I just phoned sky and they swapped me from sky talk anytime to sky talk anytime uk . I thought they would quibble this but was very simple now i get same as before with no charge to 0845 and 0870 which will save me some money.
