Actually I've got a different cordless phone now. I've never input any settings for SMS on it, nor have I looked to see if I can see any settings for SMS. I'm not actually there at the moment, but I'll certainly have a look when I get back later.

Perhaps I misunderstood something earlier in the thread, but I had got the idea that the SMS service centre numbers to use on Sky Talk were now known? As I said before, I had never managed to find these out.

(Apologies if I have totally got that wrong!)

The text was perfectly OK before I switched cordless phones. My old BT headset (not with BT) was able to make and receive texts. Should I return the cordless for a BT one (one which hopefully can make texts)?

      Re: Text message on Sky

Just tried it on my Panasonic. Message to other half's mobile was received by her in text, but her reply came back voice only. There was an 0845 number given to retrieve the message. First time I have tried it for ages, last time it did not work.

Strange thing was, I am on full SVBN but the message came through BT messaging service.

That's interesting. I haven't tried it for ages either but was on WLR back then (now on SVBN).

Does your Panasonic still have BT's SMS service centre numbers in the settings?

      Send is 1470P1709400
      Receive is 0800 587 52

(Yes the Receive number is a digit shorter than might be expected)

I also found an old thread that stated text message feature doesn't work on SVBN, but maybe that is now incorrect?

Gigaset C300 error code FD is "Connection to SMS service centre failed".

We know from isitme that send & receive is now possible on SVBN (originally it was not possible so Sky must have got it working) using BT's SMS service centre numbers, which you have confirmed you are using in your Gigaset C300.

So, something is wrong - but I'm sorry to say I've no idea what the problem could be!

Final things to check in settings:

Active Send Srvc Cent is ticked?
      SMS function is active?

If yes to both, return the handset
