      Old bt socket (thinking of getting Sky and talk)

      Hi a family member has just moved into a rented property and is thinking of getting sky he has an old bt socket which is disconneted thefore i am assuming that if he orders sky online sky will just connect old line back up
      bearing in mind he has just moved in and never had any form of phone provider ever will skt charge to connect him and give him a new number

      yes sky will charge activation fee , but as old line check to see how this is coming into house if overhead cable check if cable is going to house , will get new number and may/or not be need engineer install for telephone line depends on how long line last used,

      cheers im also assuming that sky tell you weather bt openreach are needed during the order process just he will be at work most likely and need to know weather bt openrach are required to enter the house

      most likely will be a new line provide order so an engineer will be booked anyway but if still a intact line to house normally will be remote activation (engineer will not need to go to house) unfortunately will not know if this is case until after activation unless you receive a text message stating engineer wont be out, maybe day before activation this comes from the openreach system
